The N2B was created by the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s for pilots and ground personnel, using materials specially designed for the coldest regions of the world.
The jacket was then lined with wool, and the fur around the collar was coyote fur.
Its elongated, tube-shaped hood (the meaning of the word snorkel) was designed to protect the face from wind and snow through a tunnel-like opening.
The civilian version removed all the straps securing the oxygen hoses.
Today, the N2B remains an iconic style and a must-have in fashion inspired by the U.S. military, like the MA1 bomber jacket.
